Coaching, and whether it is for you
What is Life & Executive Coaching?
A structured, collaborative partnership in which a trained coach helps you clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and build strategies for personal and professional success. It is not advice-giving and not therapy. It is a mirror to increase your self-awareness and a non-biased sounding board for the decisions that matter. Read the full picture on What is Coaching?
Who is Dr Krishna Athal?
An award-winning Life & Executive Coach and Amazon bestselling author working across India, Mauritius and Singapore, at the intersection of leadership, psychology, neuroscience and human behaviour. He was named Best Executive Coach in Asia 2026 by Asia Business Outlook and writes on leadership for the Times of India. Qualifications: Dip (AUS), BA (UK), MBA (UK), PGDip (IN), MSc (UK), CASL (SG), PhD. Full story on the About page.
What makes this coaching different?
Three things. First, it is evidence-based, rooted in psychology, neuroscience and behavioural science rather than motivation-speak. Second, it works at the level of identity and state, not just scripts and tactics. Third, it is honest: you get a sounding board that tells you the truth, not a cheerleader. The 570+ Google reviews across three countries speak to how that lands.
Is coaching right for me, or do I need something else?
Coaching suits people who are functional and ambitious but stuck, foggy, or carrying more than they are converting. It is not a substitute for therapy. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. If therapy is what you need, Dr Athal will say so plainly and point you to the right professional. That honesty is part of the Ethical Code of Conduct .
Do you work with a specific age group or profile?
No single profile. Clients range from young professionals to executives, entrepreneurs, couples, and leaders transitioning into new seasons of life, across industries and across three countries. What they share is a willingness to look honestly at themselves and do the work between sessions.
How the engagement actually runs
How do I get started?
Two steps. Book a free 15-minute consultation to check fit, with no pitch and no pressure. If we proceed, you complete the Pre-Coaching Questionnaire so the first session starts with focus and depth instead of small talk.
How often are sessions, and how long does a programme last?
Typically weekly or fortnightly, adjusted to your pace and plan. Programme length depends on your goals, from a focused reset of a few sessions to several months of deeper work. The four plans , Foundation, Growth, Action and Mastery, are built around exactly this choice.
Can coaching be done remotely?
Yes. Most clients work with Dr Athal over video call, from anywhere in the world. In-person sessions are available through the offices in Mumbai, Port Louis and Singapore.
Is there support between sessions?
Yes. Depending on your plan, coaching is complemented by recommended readings, exercises, and email or messaging support between sessions, because the real work happens between conversations, not during them.
Can coaching cover both personal and professional goals?
Yes, and it usually should. Work and life are not separate systems. How you lead a boardroom and how you show up at home draw on the same patterns. Coaching addresses both, and each plan is customised to your specific goals and circumstances rather than run from a template.
What it costs, and what you get
What does coaching cost?
Pricing depends on the plan, duration and depth of customisation. The four coaching plans and their current prices are published openly on Coaching Plans & Pricing . There are no “contact us for a quote” games. Fees are payable in advance, in accordance with the Coaching Agreement .
Do you work with organisations as well as individuals?
Yes. Alongside individual coaching, Dr Athal delivers corporate training for teams and leadership groups, including leadership presence, AI-era leadership, emotional intelligence, and difficult conversations. Start with the Pre-Corporate Training Questionnaire for a tailored proposal.
What if I need to cancel or ask for a refund?
Individual sessions need 48 hours’ notice to cancel; corporate training needs 7 days. Refunds are handled case by case and processed within 7 business days when approved. Full details are available in the Return & Refund Policy .
The ground rules everything rests on
Are coaching sessions confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is protected by strict confidentiality standards set out in the Ethical Code of Conduct and the Coaching Agreement . Your name is never used as a reference without written consent, and the limited legal exceptions, such as imminent harm or a court order, are disclosed up front rather than buried in fine print.
What standards is the practice held to?
Dr Athal adheres to the ICI Code of Ethics, the profession’s global benchmark, and requires the same of all support personnel. The full commitments, from conflict-of-interest handling to record retention, are published in the Ethical Code of Conduct .
How is my personal data handled?
Only what is needed is collected, nothing is sold, and you can request a copy or deletion of your data with one email. The Privacy Policy explains it in plain English.
