On Saturday, 19 April 2025, the serene halls of Voila Hotel, Bagatelle, were abuzz with purposeful energy. The one-day certification workshop titled “The Responsible Entrepreneur: Balancing Profit, People, and Planet”—led by renowned Life & Executive Coach, Dr Krishna Athal—brought together 70 passionate entrepreneurs, professionals, and business leaders for a day that was as transformational as it was practical.
Organised by YUVA Training Ltd (a registered MQA-approved training institution) in close collaboration with the International Coaching Institute (Singapore), the workshop was HRDC-refundable and tailored to equip participants with tools, frameworks, and real-world strategies for integrating responsibility and sustainability into the core of their business models.
Why This Workshop Stood Out
Unlike traditional business seminars that focus solely on profitability and growth metrics, “The Responsible Entrepreneur” workshop offered a holistic and human-centred perspective on entrepreneurship. It focused on the triple bottom line—Profit, People, and Planet—emphasizing that modern success is not only measured in revenue, but in impact, ethics, and long-term sustainability.
From interactive group discussions to ethical dilemma role-plays, the workshop maintained a participative and engaging format throughout. Participants didn’t just listen—they actively contributed, challenged ideas, shared stories, and left with concrete strategies they could implement right away in their businesses and careers.
The Agenda: Designed for Impact
Welcome Session (9:00 – 9:30 AM)
The day began with warm introductions, light networking, and an overview of the objectives. Dr Athal set the tone by inviting participants to reflect on their “why”—what drives their work, and how it can serve more than just the bottom line.
Module 1: The Foundations of Responsible Entrepreneurship (9:30 – 10:30 AM)
Participants explored the essence of responsible entrepreneurship, examined global trends in sustainability, and evaluated their own business practices through a dynamic group discussion.
Module 2: Ethical Leadership & Corporate Social Responsibility (10:45 – 12:00 PM)
Using real-world case studies and guided role-play activities, this session challenged participants to confront ethical dilemmas and develop a deeper understanding of CSR frameworks.
Module 3: Sustainable Business Strategies (12:45 – 2:00 PM)
This highly interactive session focused on incorporating circular economy models, green innovations, and climate-conscious operations into participants’ business strategies. Teams worked on live brainstorming sessions to propose sustainability roadmaps for their own organisations.
Module 4: Financial Sustainability & Impact Investing (2:15 – 3:15 PM)
Dr Athal guided the room through the evolving landscape of green financing, ESG reporting, and impact investing. Participants dissected real case studies and evaluated how financial success can align with social and environmental impact.
Closing Session: Action Planning & Reflection (3:15 – 4:00 PM)
The day concluded with a powerful reflection session where each participant outlined a personal action plan, setting realistic and values-driven goals to carry forward after the workshop.
Participant Feedback: Voices of Inspiration
The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the workshop as “eye-opening,” “refreshing,” and “transformative.” One participant shared:
“This wasn’t just a workshop—it was a wake-up call. I’ve always wanted to grow my business, but now I know how to grow it responsibly and make a lasting difference.”
Others praised the structure of the workshop, the relevance of real-life examples, and the openness of discussions that allowed every voice to be heard. Most importantly, participants left feeling energised, connected, and ready to take meaningful action.
